Your Labour Councillor for Chorley South West
Karen has been a Councillor for Chorley South West for the last 2 years and a Labour community activist for over 40 years.
Having been born in Chorley, Karen is proud of her roots and has lived in both Germany and Gibraltar before settling back in her home town of Chorley. Having worked in Education for many years, Karen is passionate about teaching. She is a caseworker for the NASUWT union and actively supports teachers in her role as an Equalities Officer.
Karen is particularly proud of her work to help women who have had children or a break from work, set up their own businesses. As a qualified Business Analyst, she has directly assisted with obtaining grants, writing business plans, as well as marketing initiatives and business efficiency ideas.
Through personal experience, Karen has also been a strong advocate for Dementia friendly initiatives and support for individuals and their families living with Dementia.
Karen is fully involved in all community areas and passionately opposes any inequality and unfairness. She is pledged to help residents of Chorley South West have a better quality of life, by being healthier, and wealthier and delivering a greener agenda, making Chorley the best place to live and work.
