Your Labour Councillor for Chorley South West
Roy is a Retired Quantity Surveyor and was first elected in 1996 to serve as a Chorley Borough Councillor.
Roy has been re-elected consistently as the Ward Councillor for Chorley South West Ward and has served his constituents for the past 21 years.
In 2014, Roy was privileged to become Mayor of Chorley, raising over £22,000.00 for local charities, such as St. Catherine’s Hospice, Homestart Chorley, Help the Homeless, Chorley Mencap and Chorley’s Angels.
As a family man with 3 children and 4 grandchildren, Roy is committed to Community involvement and has been active in the establishment of the Buttermere Community Centre and actively supports the Chorley Buddies food bank.
Over recent years he has instigated the provision of children’s knockabout goal posts on Gillibrand North and Cottage Fields, a bus shelter for pupils of Runshaw College on Myles Standish Way and community bulb planting on Gillibrand North.
He is also in touch with his Constituents through his membership in various Facebook Groups, which enable him to deal with various issues as they occur.
