Irene Amahwe has had a longer journey than most to become a proud resident of Clayton-le-Woods who now wants to give something back, and represent the community that has warmly welcomed her after she moved to the UK from her birthplace of Lagos, Nigeria over 30 years ago.
Irene wants to bring her compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a difference to assist all the residents of Clayton-le-Woods East, Brindle & Hoghton and believes her deep seated belief in family values, resilience, and empathy for others will stand her in good stead.
As a strong and enthusiastic woman who thrives on challenges, Irene wants to help resolve our communities many issues such as the availability of high quality housing at a reasonable cost, local jobs being available for residents and the reduction in anti-social behaviour and nuisance in our villages.
Irene wants to help deliver a positive impact on the lives of many others, across our diverse and brilliant local communities.
