Christine Heydon
Your Labour Councillor for Eccleston, Heskin & Charnock Richard
I was born in Chorley and moved to Eccleston in 1987, where I married, and had my children both were educated at St Mary’s primary school, then Bishops Rawstorne’s secondary school and Runshaw College before heading off to university.
I worked locally at RoF Chorley for 16 years, firstly as an assembly worker, a training officer then a marketing manager with corporate headquarters. I took a career break when my children were small, then entered the civil service with the Department for Work and Pensions. I worked in project management roles and delivered government changes to pensions and disability benefits until I retired.
I always belonged (willingly) to the trades union representing my particular job, most recently PCS.
When I retired, I took up some voluntary work. I was a branch trustee for the RSPCA animal shelter in Southport. I am currently an Independent Person with Lancashire Children’s Services investigating complaints.
Hobbies include my dogs, gardening and sewing, I recently joined the WI and belong to a local quilting group.
