Your Labour Councillor for Clayton West & Cuerden

As a lifelong resident of Clayton-le-Woods, I am currently the serving councillor on Lancashire County Council, representing the Clayton with Whittle Division and Chorley Council representing Clayton West & Cuerden ward. I am also a member of Clayton-le-Woods Parish Council where I Chair the Environment Committee.

As a Councillor, I have successfully brought the landfill site and other agencies to task over the horrible stench of the Clayton Hall Landfill Site. As Chair of the Landfill Liaison Committee, I continue to monitor the site and strive never to allow any repeat of the disastrous uncontrolled release of gases we all suffered previously.

I am hugely proud to have campaigned for and successfully seen the delivery of the state-of-the-art medical facility that is the Whittle Health Hub. A fantastic asset serving our community.

I continue to fight against unwanted and damaging over-development and I have successfully helped to protect several areas of natural beauty. I continue to strive for the protection of our green spaces and environment and I am at the forefront to protect the remaining green fields in our area.

As Chorley Council’s Member responsible for Environment and Green Space, protecting wildlife and nature is my life and I will drive through measures on Lancashire County Council to help Lancashire in the quest to become Carbon Neutral by 2030.

I continue to fight for cleaner, safer streets including proper resurfacing and road safety measures and carry on campaigning for a new primary and secondary school to meet the demand of residents.

I look forward to hearing your views, thoughts and concerns so please do get in touch.
