Terry Howarth
Executive Member for Homes and Housing
Your Labour Councillor for Chorley South West
Terry is a married father of two who worked as a teacher in secondary schools and colleges. Born at Chorley Hospital and raised in Chorley he remains extremely supportive of services being retained locally.
Terry is a vigorous campaigner for Chorley Hospital to return to a 24-hour A&E service that treats all emergency cases here, instead of a system where families have to travel long distances to access treatment and to visit sick relatives.
Following his election to Chorley Borough Council in 2021 Terry has also served on the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s Joint Scrutiny Committee as the Council’s representative. He has focused on the key issues affecting local residents such as helping create local and better-paid jobs, access to local schools and decent housing, improvements to the local environment such as at Yarrow Valley Park, and a reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour.
